The Joys Of Motherhood!

I have the privilege of being a stay at home mom (SAHM), and what a privilege that is! For anyone that is not a mother, they may believe being a SAHM is an easy job. That is far from the truth. By the days end I am usually ready for a nice big margarita, or maybe 5 shots of vodka, and on some occasions both. Today-- is one of those days I'll take both!!

I don't even know where to begin with my day. Between Landon & Taylor I feel like I am in a tag-team match, but somehow I don't have a partner! If it's not Landon I am chasing after, spanking, and cleaning up his trail of messes, it's Taylor!! Today was just one of those days I should blog about.

The day started off remotely peaceful. Landon woke up & Jeremiah got him out of bed. Then the two boys came in and got me out of bed. I took Taylor out for her walk/potty time and then came home. Landon played in his room and stayed out of trouble. (Except for the time when he went into my bathroom and dumped out my Bed Head hair product!) I made some lunch for us, and of course Landon made a mess with it. He also refused to eat his pizza- nothing new there. Jeremiah then put Landon in the bath and then we (Jer & I) searched his email account to find out his drill dates. While we were doing that I heard Landon scream. I ran into the bathroom to see Landon had decided to wash his own hair. Of course that means, 1.) He dumped half the bottle of shampoo in his hair. 2.) The other half of the bottle of shampoo is now floating around the bath water. & 3.) His hair is half wet with half a bottle of shampoo running down into his eyes. After getting him washed up, I got him out and dressed for the day. We said bye bye to daddy and then I attempted to shower. Of course that means Landon is free from supervision for about 10 minutes. In those 10 minutes he managed to get into the game cabinet and dump the box of 1000 piece puzzle on the floor upstairs. He also managed to tear open my bag of truffles and pour them all over the floor (easier access for Taylor I assume). After my shower we came downstairs and him and Taylor went and played in the garage. I heard them playing with cans so I ran downstairs to the garage to check on them. After forcing Landon to help pick up the dozen or so empty pepsi cans him and Taylor were tossing around the garage, I got both him and Taylor back inside. They went upstairs to his room and played (AKA: Dumped his toy box out and destroyed his room). I began to do my household chores. While downstairs doing laundry Landon went into the kitchen and decided to pour himself a glass of gatorade. Of course his pouring skills are not up to par and half the bottle of gatorade was now on my counter, pouring down into the cabinet below, and onto the floor. I spanked his butt and sent him to his room while I cleaned up-- again. Wiped down the counter, inside and outside of the cabinet, and mopped the floor. (My kitchen floor gets mopped AT LEAST once a day!) He then came downstairs and said he was going to be a "nice boy". Throughout the day little things like this happened. I pretty much just follow after him and Taylor and clean up all their messes. After spending the entire day cleaning up after them, I let them go back down to the garage and play. About 5 minutes after they went into the garage I heard/felt the garage door open. I hauled butt downstairs and opened the door leading to the garage. Sure enough Landon had opened our garage door and Taylor had bolted out. I stuck Landon back into the house and told him to go upstairs. I went to go get Taylor, and of course she took off. The thought of "just leaving her out there" crossed my mind.. but of course I didn't listen to my thought. (Next time I'll listen to that thought!!) After chasing the stupid mutt around the complex I finally caught the ^#!($%! and brought her back into the house. I tossed her upstairs and threw in another load of laundry. I then took some of Landon's laundry up to his room, and noticed he wasn't in there playing. I walked into my bedroom, expecting to see him in the bathroom spraying himself down with MORE cologne or febreeze spray, but instead the room was empty. It then clicked. I ran down the stairs and out the front door! I knew that Landon decided to go out and try to find Taylor and I. Thing is-- I had found Taylor, but he didn't find us! I ran around the complex (it was about 8pm and dark outside) calling his name. Finally I heard a lady yell "is this your child?". I ran over there and saw Landon, safe and sound. The lady was confused, maybe she was expecting me to be more hysterical, I don't know. She asked me what happened, worried I was sick or something (again, I don't know!) and I just explained to her he let himself out. He let himself out and ran off to find me. Instead it was dark out and I was no where in sight. Maybe he got side tracked when he saw a lite up botton, or maybe he just wanted to ring her doorbell in hopes she knew where we were. Either way he rang this lady's doorbell and when she opened the door he said "mommy?". They went on a wild goose chase trying to find me. In the end, I found him, and he's still alive. He is now dead-bolted in his room, HOPEFULLY fast asleep! As for me, I am working on my second round of vodka shots. HaHa. Just kidding, I ran out of vodka yesterday. ;-)

The joys of motherhood! Isn't it GRAND?!?!
